Theodore Thomas Stern

	Mr. Theodore Thomas Stern, 83, of Nashville, formerly of Rice, departed this life at Friendship Manor Health Care Center in Nashville on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at 11 p.m.
	Mr. Stern was born on June 25, 1920 at Rice, the son of John W. and Susan (Degenhardt) Stern.  He was united in Marriage to Virginia Hildebrand on February 19, 1944 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill.
	Theodore was a farmer and also worked as the Road Commissioner for the Perry County Road District 43 from 1982 until 1989.  He was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Todds Mill, the Knights of Columbus Council 2921 in Pinckneyville and the Washington County Farm Bureau.  He was a former member of the American Thresherman Association and the Egyptian Telephone Co-op.
	Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Virginia Stern of Nashville; son, Ted Stern and wife Sallie of Pinckneyville; two daughters, Phyllis Meier and husband Bob of Nashville and Joyce Hagene of Pinckneyville; one brother, William Stern and wife Betty of Belleville; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relations and friends.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Charles, Ernest, Ed and Albert Stern and four sisters, Sarah Stern, Agnes Skurat, Cornelia Matecki and Bernice Kurwicki.
	Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Todds Mill on Saturday, January 24 at 10 a.m. with Fr. James Van Oss officiating.  Interment was in the church cemetery.
	Friends called at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville on Friday from 5 until 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
	A prayer service was held on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Campagna Funeral Home.
	Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation.
